Q: Can I drop in for a class to try it out?
A: You can drop in for ONE trial per class per session to see if you like it. Cost is $15 for the one class; or, if you decide you want to continue, just pay for the remainder of the session (prorated)!
Q: The session already started. Can I still join the class?
A: YES! Join us at anytime in the session and pay a prorated rate!
Q: I will have to miss a class. Can I do a makeup?
A: Yes! Any classes you miss can be made up in any other class I am teaching at any time during the session at either location.
Q: How do I pay for classes?
A: You can pay by: cash, check (made out to “BE yoga”), or with Visa or MasterCard through the website. Credit cards can also be processed on site for a small fee.
Q: I have never done yoga before. Can I take your classes?
A: Absolutely. Intro to Yoga is designed for people who need or want to start from the very beginning! We learn only a few poses a week so we can learn them in detail. We also learn about pranayama (breath work) and different ways to relax in savasana. People who have never done yoga and people who want a refresher on the intricacies of the poses have both found success in this class. The Very Gentle Class is also very accessible to people who are just beginning yoga.
Q: I am not flexible. Can I do yoga?
A: Yes! Yoga can help you become more flexible, but you do not need to be flexible to begin yoga. Yoga isn’t just about flexibility; it is also about breath, relaxation, meditation and working with the mind.
Q: I am pregnant. Do you have a class for me?
A: You are welcome to take almost any class that I teach. I have taught numerous prenatal yoga classes and have also taught many women who are pregnant in my classes that aren’t specifically prenatal classes. It will be noted in the class description if the class is not recommended for pregnant women. If you are pregnant, please do let me know so I can provide alternate poses when appropriate for your and baby’s health.
Q: What do I wear to class?
A: Wear comfortable clothing that you can move in easily. When choosing a shirt, wear one that is tighter or that can be tucked in to prevent it from moving in certain poses. Shorts or athletic pants are acceptable for class.
Q: Is there a place to change?
A: There is a bathroom or changing area at each space to use.
Q: Do I need to bring a yoga mat to class?
A: If you have your own yoga mat, please bring it. If you don’t have one, I do have some you can borrow. I also have blankets, blocks and some straps to use during class.
